GetOrganizedBK: Full Group Meeting

March 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Inspired by the youth-led response to the tragic mass shooting at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, we will return to Congregation Beth Elohim for our next GOBK meeting, where we will hear from youth activists and advocacy organizations on the forefront of gun reform and youth organizing.

#GetOrganizedBK: Full-Group Meeting
Monday, March 19th, 2018
Location: Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Place (in the sanctuary)**
Door Opens: 6:30 PM
Meeting: 7:00-9:00 PM
RSVP here
**CBE’s sanctuary is wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific questions about the accessibility of the space, please contact bryonyromer@gmail.com.

Like always after our main program, you’ll also get to hear about how to get involved with #GOBK working groups (check out the GOBK events calendar to learn more!).

As we know the reality in New York City, and in cities across the country, is that communities have been contending with high rates of gun violence long before the Parkland tragedy. Our conversation on the 19th will aim to be inclusive of the ways communities, especially across lines of race, are impacted by gun violence in different ways, and our next steps will focus on the many ways you can plug into action around this issue.

We will also use this gathering to mobilize for upcoming related actions, including the March for Our Lives on Saturday March 24th, and to brainstorm together about how we can sustain support for youth-led movements around gun control. With that in mind, young people are welcome and encouraged to attend!
