Monday Early Voting Press Event. There will be a big press event about Early Voting in Harlem on Monday (April 29) at 2:30 pm. Keep an eye out for information Sunday evening, when we’re able to share more details!

RCV in NYC. The Chart Commission released its draft Staff Report earlier this week and Ranked Choice Voting has made the cut (page 8). BUT how RCV will be structured (all city elections or just city-wide; just primaries or special elections, too; how many choices can voters make; etc.) is not included. That’s where we come in:

  • The Charter Commission hearings begin next week for public comment on all of the proposals. Make your voice heard on RCV Thursday, May 2 @ 6pm at Brooklyn Borough Hall
  • Want to get more involved with our RCV efforts? BVA’s RCV team is meeting Tuesday, April 30 @ 7 pm to make plans, both short- and long-term

If you want more information about the above email Julie at

We’re Not Tired of Winning Party! Join us and Let NY Vote for a party Wednesday, May 1, 6-8pm at Clancey (79 Clinton Street, Manhattan) to celebrate our successes so far. While there is still more to do, it’s a chance to celebrate all of our hard work. RSVP to receive 2 free wine/beer tickets. All are welcome and we hope to see many BVAers there raising a glass to the historic reforms we’ve achieved for New York!

Save the Date. BVA’s monthly meeting is May 14 at the YWCA Brooklyn (30 3rd Ave) at 7 pm. We’ll be talking about plans for the remainder of the legislative session (it ends June 20).
