The Means to End Police Violence: A Fundraiser for JC
July 20, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Do you know who is on the front lines of fighting police violence in communities of color in NYC? The Justice Committee is one of those groups.
The time is long overdue to put an end to abusive and discriminatory policing. Put your resources toward those who work every day to build that movement, and come to “The Means to End Police Violence” – A Fundraiser for the Justice Committee.
Buy your tickets in advance, or make a donation if you cannot attend: https://
The event will be an evening of socializing and learning more about JC’s critical work.
Your support will help JC:
• Support and organize families who have lost loved ones to the police to win police accountability and justice
• Build Cop Watch teams across the City
• Empower low-income New Yorkers of color to hold the police accountable and build safe, healthy communities
• Organize for policy changes to decrease police violence and strengthen police accountability
Suggested, sliding-scale donation of $25-$100 for entry, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Come and learn about the incredible work JC has done in NYC for decades, with ALL entrance proceeds going straight to them. There’ll be food, drinks, and music as well.
The event is wheelchair accessible.
More about the Justice Committee:
Since the 1980s, the Justice Committee (JC) has been dedicated to building a movement against police violence and systemic racism in New York City and empowering low-income Latino/as and other people of color to address these issues. Through multi-generational grassroots campaigns, community empowerment and leadership development programming, and solidarity-building with other anti-racist, immigrant, and people of color-led organizations, the Justice Committee seeks to contribute to a broad-based movement for racial, social, and economic justice.
We hope to see you there! If you’d like to become more involved in volunteering to support this event, reach out to Linnea (email@example.com) or Sammie (firstname.lastname@example.org)
